I especially like to use “conflate,” “dulcet,” “erstwhile,” “evocative,” “Gossamer” (the name of my erstwhile pet snake), “nemesis,” “panoply,” “plethora,” “serendipity,” “surreptitious,” “untoward,” and “vestigial.”

Not on the list: I love “asylum,” “cornucopia,” and “lovely.”
